Substance abuse typically leads to addiction, which requires specialized treatment programs at Association For Sober Living to address. Many people benefit from inpatient drug rehabilitation, which includes inpatient acute care and residential rehabilitation. Other levels of care include intensive outpatient therapy, individual counseling, and support groups. Family therapy is also an essential part of treatment for substance abuse.

A combination of treatments is often needed to treat drug abuse issues effectively. In the case of drug abuse, there is no easy answer or one-size-fits-all cure.

Opioid addiction treatment helps people addicted to opioids in Massachusetts curb their drug use. The selection of a treatment setting depends on the severity of the addiction. Mild cases are usually treated in outpatient facilities; severe cases need hospitalization or treatment in a residential facility. Doctors use medicines along with counseling and behavioral therapies to treat the addiction. The treatment includes medication, counseling and therapy. It can also include group counseling, individual counseling and family counseling.

People with dual diagnosis have coexisting addiction and a mental disorder. 9.2 million US adults had a co-occurring disorder in 2018, so not just limited to Massachusetts residents. Best treatment combines medication, psychotherapy (talk therapy), support group, and inpatient rehabilitation. Sometimes, complementary therapies – yoga, massage, and acupuncture – may also be used.

Levels of Care Offered at Association For Sober Living

This center offers a variety of custom treatment tailored to individual recovery. Currently available are Drug Rehab, Dual-Diagnosis, Inpatient, Residential, Sober-Living / Half-Way, with additional therapies available as listed below.

Inpatient rehab means living at the North Attleboro, MA facility while all aspects of an addiction or co-occurring disorder get addressed. This helps limit the distractions and increase the focus on recovery. Typical inpatient rehab stays are approximately one month long.

Sober living home provides a drug and alcohol-free environment for people in North Attleboro trying to stay sober. The atmosphere in SLH is less restrictive than in inpatient rehab. Members have to follow many rules, including not drinking and using drugs and paying rent and bills. There is no limit for the minimum or maximum period of stay, but as long as you stay in the house, you should follow the rules, as it’s the opportunity for individual and group sobriety.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient’s individual requirements.

    Therapies & Programs

Individual professional counseling or individual therapy refers to the one-on-one interaction between a patient and his or her counselor at Association For Sober Living in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Individual therapy allows for more privacy, one that group interactions can’t provide. It makes it easier for the counselor and the patient to deal with the central issues, which are likely the culprits of substance addiction.

Group therapy is an important tool in recovery. Finding a peer group in North Attleboro, MA and others who relate to your situation is a fundamental tool for recovery at Association For Sober Living. Addiction tends to lead to isolation and feelings of uniqueness. The accountability and friendship that is found in group therapy can be more effective than any single other treatment approach. This is generally introduced early in recovery and is recommended as a lifetime treatment habit.

    Patient Experience

Experiential Therapy at Association For Sober Living

Experiential therapy works by using tools and activities to recreate past experiences. Role-playing, arts and crafts, music, animal care, rock climbing, etc. are some of the activities used in this therapy. It is different from medication and talk therapy and suits those who have difficulty expressing themselves.

Going through the ASL program has to be the best choices I have ever made . The program has forever changed how I feel about my disease of alcoholism.. doing both in house group meetings and outside AA and NA meetings helped me feel comfortable with speaking in group settings and has taught me to net work and not be ashamed of my alcoholism has built my confidence and has shown me I am not alone the director puts his whole heart into helping me achieve goals and motivates me with positive out looks in areas that I have always struggled and feared no words can truly express the kindness and support I received from the ASL with discipline and a regiment of groups and structure I was giving the tools I need to perform the task at hand thank you Emmen Lynch for the opportunity and gift of the ASL
