    Drug Rehabilitation

Getting sober on your own is not only dangerous during the initial detox, it is also more likely to result in a relapse later on. Addiction treatment centers provide a monitored environment where you will get the medical attention you need, as well as the emotional support to overcome drug or alcohol abuse.

Alcoholism Treatment in Grand Junction, CO

Alcoholism is a chronic disease that can be treated with the help of medicine, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of these. There are many different treatment centers available to assist the addict and his family members in overcoming alcoholism.

Alcohol rehabilitation provides the addicted individual the chance to recover from the illness and resume his responsibilities while maintaining sobriety. This starts with detoxification, an initial process that helps the addict achieve abstinence from alcohol. Treatment can be done either in-house or in a residential setting. It can last from 30 to 90 days or even longer, if necessary. Alcohol rehabilitation is the treatment and management of all aspects of a patient’s addiction to alcohol.

During detoxification, the addict is first taken through a medically supervised administration of medications that reduces or removes withdrawal symptoms. This is achieved by administering medications like Benzodiazepines (similar to Valium or Xanax) or Corticosteroids (medications like prednisone or cortisone).

Prevention and treatment of withdrawal symptoms are followed by a treatment regimen that has several stages, including:

    1. Detoxification
    2. Rehabilitation and therapy
    3. Aftercare planning.

Opioid + Opiate Addiction Treatment in Grand Junction, CO

Opioid addiction is a common form of addiction, often caused by prescription drugs that are abused. Addiction is treated by detoxifying the body and following up with therapies to correct behavior and target the root of the problem.

Most opioid addiction begins with patients being prescribed painkillers after an injury or surgery. The body becomes used to the chemicals in these medications and soon no longer responds to their presence. As a result, addicts seek out stronger opiate-based medications like Oxycodone to compensate for the lack of effectiveness.

The most dangerous aspect is that these addictive behaviors often get carried over onto illicit drugs like heroin, which are increasingly potent and result in lower life expectancies.

    Dual-Diagnosis

Dual Diagnosis treatment centers like Mind Springs Health & West Springs Hospital provide this treatment tailored to the patient’s specific needs, and they also have a specialized focus on addiction treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often coexists with another mental illness, such as depression or schizophrenia. In other words, drug addiction is only a symptom of a deeper problem.

When addiction enters into the picture, it can often lead to dangerous consequences in the addict’s life. For example, when addiction is paired with major depression, it can lead to suicidal thoughts or actions. When someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol, they often experience a failure to control their impulses and difficulty decision-making.

Dual diagnosis for drug addicts can be very effective when treating drug addiction in Grand Junction, CO.

I see this Christina man-hater she threatened to change my medicine even though everything finally started to get better with them. I felt much worse after that unpleasant visit. second visit tells me to rip off the government by working under the table “like all the other felons”, then takes me off all my meds doesn’t taper them off, just cut off. And I can’t even get a grievance from this joke of a place, they gave me back one of the medications almost a month later, and I am still going nuts. Can’t sleep mind racing all the time and I cannot keep it all together.
