The Impact of Addiction in Mississippi

Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers in Mississippi

The rich past of Mississippi has been influenced by American Indians, European traders and early settlers. During the American Civil War, Vicksburg was a key battle ground, commemorated with memorials. The beautiful landscapes of the state have inspired a wealth of creative talent, from William Faulkner to Elvis Presley. The art scene continues to flourish, with independent film festivals, honky tonks and Pulitzer’s award-winning authors.

Despite the state of Mississippi ranking amongst the lowest in the nation for deaths due to drug and alcohol abuse, the problem is still prevalent within the community.
