Mental Health Systems
Mental Health Systems, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) community-based nonprofit organization founded in 1978 in San Diego, California. Their mission is “To promote mental health and Recovery through an integrated Continuum of care that is culturally competent, linguistically and ethnically appropriate, strength-based, and trauma-informed.” They envision “A world where all people have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential for mental wellness.”
Mental Health Systems provides services for those with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), Mental Illness (MI), and/or are Trauma Survivors. They have residential and outpatient programs as well as support services and follow up care. They offer different services in different languages to be culturally and linguistically appropriate. They welcome people of all ages, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities. No one is turned away due to inability to pay.
Mental Health Systems has been successful in helping people from all walks of life get sober and improve their mental health. They have been recognized by the California Legislature and have been awarded the Congressional Record for Substance Abuse Prevention.
