Getting sober on your own is not only dangerous during the initial detox, it is also more likely to result in a relapse later on. Addiction treatment centers provide a monitored environment where you will get the medical attention you need, as well as the emotional support to overcome drug or alcohol abuse.
Drug & Alcohol Detoxification
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
To assist with alcohol or opioid abuse, or a co-occurring condition, Carolina Treatment Center offers an outpatient treatment program. For their rehabilitation and other services, the South Carolina patient will go to the treatment center, yet return home every night. After most of the program is completed, the level of mandatory participation reduces.
